What is a sales development representative's (SDR) job at Maker’s Red Box?
A sales development representative (SDR) is an inside sales representative that focuses on outreach, prospecting, and lead qualification. SDR doesn’t focus on closing business but connecting with as many leads as possible and determining if they’re good customer fits.
SDR moves leads through the sales pipeline. He/she connects and learns about their businesses and needs. If a prospect is a good fit, SDR schedules next steps with sales reps higher in the organization.
SDR educates, answers questions, and sends resources to potential customers. He/she contacts every lead and determines who stays and who goes.

Responsibilities for Sales Development Representative
- Maintain a self-starter attitude while learning and creating outreach strategies for new lead generation methods
- Anticipate needs by studying services and conducting market research to identify new leads via online
- Support sales teams and sales representatives on outbound strategies and lead generating efforts
- Be the first point of contact for new business prospects and determine the next steps for each prospect moving forward
- Establish active communication and engagement with prospects to create new leads and sales openings
Qualifications for Sales Development Representative
- Great communication skills, both written and oral
- Demonstrated ability to work solo as well as being a productive team member, making outbound sales activities every day
- Understand social selling basics
- Have a strong work ethic and is eager to learn and make new connections with prospects
- Willing to learn LinkedIn Sales Navigator or other similar prospecting applications while keeping track of dead-end leads
- Willing to learn HubSpot as our core platform
